Join us for a Full Moon Restorative Yoga / Yoga Nidra event! The full moon represents abundance and generosity. Take this opportunity to reflect and realign yourself for the month ahead. It will start with a series of restorative poses. Restorative yoga allows the body to be fully supported in poses through the use of props to achieve the desired benefits. We will then transition to Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra means yogic sleep – you will be guided through stages of relaxation and meditation to feel replenished and renewed. A Yoga Nidra practice encourages rest and relaxation, which can facilitate reduced stress, improved sleep, a deeper connection with yourself and much more. Restorative Yoga / Yoga Nidra is for everyone, any age! There is no prior experience required.
Melissa Wood is a 200 hr RYT, Reiki Master Practitioner and holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from Temple University. Melissa began practicing yoga in 2001 and finds that yoga brings a wonderful combination of physical and mental therapy to her daily life. Interested in teaching the benefits of daily practice to her daughter and practicing together, Melissa pursued the yoga and mindfulness for children program at ChildLight in Dover in 2017. Melissa then completed additional training in Restorative Yoga – Yoga Nidra training with YogaNH and 50 hr Yin training with Josh Summers.
She has loved the experience of sharing the benefits (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual) of yoga with people of all ages by creating space for students to be in their practice. Melissa encourages her students to continually look for the details, to stay lifelong learners, and practice over perfection.
